I absolutely love how she’s designed it – it’s a perfect balance of autobiography mixed with tips, help and advice, as well as including pages to jot down your own thoughts. I especially love the section ‘Confidence & Happiness’ – her top 10 tips on both ‘Ways To Feel More Confident’ and ‘Things That Make Me Happy’ were so inspiring and gave me a new found motivation at following my dreams and embracing life.
A nice touch is the ‘Recipe’ section she has included at the end which includes a small selection of her favourite recipes which look delicious, without putting me off by being overly complicated (which is often the case!) As I had a Sunday afternoon free today I decided I’d put her ‘Lemon Drizzle Loaf’ recipe to the test. The recipe was so simple and easy to follow. I didn’t have a loaf tin so decided to just make it into a cake instead; I usually hate adapting recipes because my efforts never look anywhere near as good as the pictures but I went with it this time.
My cake (above) admittedly didn’t look anywhere near as perfect as Tanya’s beautiful picture, but I was proud of myself for having a go and it tasted delicious! I think this has encouraged me to try baking and cooking things out of my comfort zone more often – I’ve never made a lemon drizzle cake before but it was so easy to make and tasted amazing which is definitely motivating! I served it to my family with some clotted cream we had left over and a cup of tea, a perfect Sunday afternoon tea.
