‘Love, Tanya’ Book Review and Recipe Trial

As I’m sure many of you will know, blogger and Youtuber Tanya Burr released her first book ‘Love,Tanya’ last month, packed full of tips on love, confidence and skincare essentials among many other things.

I absolutely love how she’s designed it – it’s a perfect balance of autobiography mixed with tips, help and advice, as well as including pages to jot down your own thoughts.  I especially love the section ‘Confidence & Happiness’ – her top 10 tips on both ‘Ways To Feel More Confident’ and ‘Things That Make Me Happy’ were so inspiring and gave me a new found motivation at following my dreams and embracing life.

A nice touch is the ‘Recipe’ section she has included at the end which includes a small selection of her favourite recipes which look delicious, without putting me off by being overly complicated (which is often the case!)  As I had a Sunday afternoon free today I decided I’d put her ‘Lemon Drizzle Loaf’ recipe to the test.  The recipe was so simple and easy to follow.  I didn’t have a loaf tin so decided to just make it into a cake instead; I usually hate adapting recipes because my efforts never look anywhere near as good as the pictures but I went with it this time.

My cake (above) admittedly didn’t look anywhere near as perfect as Tanya’s beautiful picture, but I was proud of myself for having a go and it tasted delicious!  I think this has encouraged me to try baking and cooking things out of my comfort zone more often – I’ve never made a lemon drizzle cake before but it was so easy to make and tasted amazing which is definitely motivating!  I served it to my family with some clotted cream we had left over and a cup of tea, a perfect Sunday afternoon tea.

I would definitely recommend ‘Love, Tanya’ – it’s the ideal go to book for little tips, advice and motivation.  Let me know if you’ve tried any of the recipes or if there’s any other books you recommend!

Keep Sparkling x

Thank you! Mine fell apart a bit when I took it out of the cake tin but I just turned it upside down and all was fine! Good luck xx
