Post exam trip to Southwold!

Hello everybody!
I cannot cope with how long it’s been since I’ve written for my blog! Sadly, as I’m sure has been the case with many of you, exam season struck and so I’ve been struggling to find time to eat and sleep, let alone do anything else!  Happily (until results day anyway…) exams are over for another term and so I’m back!
To celebrate the end of my exams and make the most of a sunny day, I headed to Southwold with my parents.  For those of you who don’t know, Southwold is on the coast of Suffolk in England.  We managed to pick a beautiful day and arrived in Southwold just in time for morning coffee.  Now I am always in favour of seizing any opportunity to have a café stop and so was delighted that a café greeted us as soon as we stepped on to Southwold pier.  I enjoyed a nice cup of tea whilst watching the waves on the sea through the window.

We then headed to the beach with our picnic in tow.  I adore picnics and loved setting up the rug on the sand and handing out sandwiches before falling asleep in the sun (not that I suggest doing this without a good slathering of sun cream first!)

Feeling nice and relaxed, we then decided to head into Southwold town, and enjoyed dipping in and out of the different shops and even managed to get a nice t-shirt out of the Jack Wills sale!  We then walked back towards the beach past some of the beautiful beach huts for which Southwold is known for.

By this point I was getting hungry again, and no trip to the beach is complete without fish and chips!  The food was absolutely delicious and I enjoyed it sitting on the beach with a book in my lap – can’t get much better than that!
It was such a lovely day and it was so nice to get to spend some quality time with my parent after being away at University for exams.  Have you had exams and what did you do to celebrate the end? I’d love to know in the comments!

Keep Sparkling x
