A week in Norfolk

Hi everyone!

Last week I went on holiday with my family to North Norfolk.  I actually wrote a post about going to the same place a couple of years ago but I enjoy looking back at that so I thought I’d let you know what I got up to!

We stayed in a little cottage in North Creake, which is a village near Burnham Market in North Norfolk.  The cottage is quite small and cosy, we’ve stayed there a few times before so I felt very at home there.  Because of my anxiety, I’m struggling to go out lots or being away from home for too long, so we had a relaxing week just doing little things rather than big days out.

We had a couple of walks in Burnham Overy Staithe and Wells-Next-The-Sea which were both beautiful – I love looking at all the beach huts at Wells.  We also managed a day on the beach although I have to admit I kept my coat firmly on!  We had such a nice day wandering around the shops in Burnham Market where there were some pretty good sales in Joules and Jack Wills so I couldn’t resist buying a few new clothes which was a treat.

On a couple of days, we went for brunch at Creake Abbey, which has a lovely cafe and a few little shops.  I really enjoyed going there; they have the best homemade lemonade I’ve ever tasted so I’d definitely recommend going there if you’re ever in the area!  We also went out for dinner at The Nelson in Burnham Market and The Jolly Farmers which was next door to where we were staying in North Creake.  Going out for dinner is something I find challenging but I really enjoyed both evenings and the food was delicious.

It was really lovely to spend some time as a family and especially with my sister who is away at University at the moment.  The two of us really enjoyed doing our makeup and hair together before going out for dinner and spending some quality time together.  It was also nice to have cosy nights in with the wood burner going.

I’d love to know what you’ve been up to over Easter, let me know in the comments!

  1. Glad you had a great time in Norfolk, and that you were able to spend some good time with family and your sister. The little cottage you stayed looks so cozy and I love that each cottage has a different color to it.

  2. Sounds like such a lovely time! I would love to get away for a weekend and just relax somewhere! It always helps so much! xx

  3. That sounds like such a fun week! Those cottages look so familiar, I think I might’ve seen them on a really old Niomi Smart video, or maybe I’m getting mixed up haha. I’d love to visit Norfolk one day!
